About Us
We believe in improving the lives of cats and the communities that care for them through spay/neuter, adoption, and education.
Foster Program
Our foster program brings in high-risk cats and kittens from around the East Bay, especially those with nowhere else to go. This could be because rescues and shelters are full or because the cat or kitten would not thrive in a shelter environment due to medical needs or temperament. We also have a neonate program and can take in bottle babies as well as nursing moms with kittens.
Feral Change Program
Our community cat program connects community members to spay/neuter resources, sponsors spay/neuter clinics, provides medical care for unowned cats, lends traps and other equipment, and coordinates trapping projects. We also have online resources and a help email to support folks who want to assist the community cats in their neighborhood.
Education Program
Our education program leads workshops on topics such as beginning TNR (trap-neuter-return), advanced TNR, caring for bottle babies, treating ringworm, and socializing kittens of various ages. We host both virtual and in-person workshops around the San Francisco Bay Area. We also provide extensive resources on cat-related topics in our online Resource Library.
Why Full Circle Cats?
From our beginnings as a group of volunteers doing trap-neuter-return in West Oakland, we have grown dramatically in the past few years and are launching into our next chapter. The name Full Circle Cats reflects our mission and where we are headed.
Full Circle is about stopping the cycle. The core of all cat rescue comes down to spay/neuter to end the overpopulation crisis. It is at the heart of our mission. There will never be enough resources and homes for all the cats born on the street unless we take action and prevent it from happening in the first place.
Full Circle is about evaluating every situation. Working out in the community is never just about scooping up kittens. Taking a holistic approach means spaying and neutering, providing medical care, finding paths to adoption, connecting to resources, or all of the above. No two situations are the same and we take them case by case to try to find the best outcome.
Full Circle is about caring for cats at every stage. From bottle feeding the most vulnerable newborns to providing hospice care for cats that are ready for a retirement off the streets, we are there for them.
Full Circle is about tackling the big picture. We don’t shy away from challenges in our community and in animal welfare. We gather data and information about the cats, the colonies, and our operations in order to make the best decisions and the greatest impact.
Full Circle is about building community. This means working together, spreading awareness and education, and approaching everyone with compassion and understanding. We’re all on the same team. Let’s learn and grow together.
