Some of our volunteer activities

These are just some of the ways volunteers help Full Circle Cats make the biggest impact it can!

  • We host various events and workshops and volunteers help make it possible. Sell tickets, manage the merch table, or just generally assist with whatever the event is. A fun way to spend a day with cat people and make a difference.

  • While we encourage caretakers to do their own trapping, sometimes that isn't possible and we send a volunteer out to help. No experience necessary, we will train you. Get a chance to work out in the field and meet new folks (and cats)!

  • Help drive cats to the clinics for spay/neuter. We work with a few clinics around the area and having drivers is what makes it all possible. Morning shifts are usually within the hours of 6:30am-9am and afternoon shifts are usually within the hours of 4:30pm-7pm.

  • The community cat team is looking for folks who may be interested in volunteering to handle logistics on our TNR clinic days. This can look like a lot of different roles but primarily we are looking for individuals who can assist checking in and discharging cats, completing paperwork, communicating with trappers, and transporting cats in a cargo van (so not your personal vehicle). 

    Volunteers would need to be available in the early mornings (6-8am) and late afternoons (4:30-7:30pm). Volunteers would know 2-4 weeks in advance about the clinics and can sign up for spots if their schedule will accommodate. The expectation would be that a shift would only be about 1-2 hours on the day you sign up.

Administrative Roles

  • Build community and develop our volunteer program! Our volunteer base has grown, as has our need for volunteers, and we’re looking for someone to help with the volunteer experience and build engagement within our community.

    Let’s figure out how to boost our community and get folks empowered and connected. Oversee the ins and outs of our volunteers, including managing the volunteer database, improving the onboarding process for volunteers, and maintaining waivers/handbooks/applications. Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with technology. Management experience is a plus.

    Estimated time commitment: 10 hours a week. 

  • Help follow our cats through our program from intake to adoption. This role is all about building relationships and being available. Proactively stay in touch with the foster team and make sure that the fosters (both human and cat) get the support they need through the process.

    Oversee foster program, onboard new fosters, facilitate foster movement between homes, maintain handbooks, and coordinate foster supplies.

    Works directly with our foster program manager and other foster team members. Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with technology. Daily availability by phone and flexibility is extremely important.

    Estimated time commitment varies with the number of cats and cases, but about 10-15 hours a week.

  • Help us raise money! Think creatively about how we might help save even more cats. Build relationships, seek out partnerships and collaborations, and plan campaigns. Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with good communication skills. Fundraising experience a plus.

    Estimated time commitment is about five hours a week.

  • We have a lot of traps, crates, and other equipment and we need help making sure it's in good shape, reordering broken parts, sanitizing what has been returned, and maintaining an inventory. Love organizing and that feeling when everything is done, clean, and in its proper place? This is for you.

    Weekly time commitment would be about 2-5 hours. On site in Oakland.

  • Help our neediest community cats find safe outdoor homes. Vet potential adopters, visit the potential locations, set up acclimation crates, and support adopters until the cats are released and settled into their new homes. We can help train and guide you so you become comfortable with this whole process.
